This is not a typical bear photography tour.

Based deep within Alaska’s wilderness between Katmai National Park, Lake Clark National Park and Bristol Bay, this expedition is designed for photographers seeking a truly immersive wilderness experience. Every day brings new opportunities as changing wildlife activity, weather and seasonal conditions guide our photographic decisions.

With no roads, no crowds and access only by aircraft, you’ll experience a side of Alaska that few visitors ever see.

One of the greatest advantages of this expedition is our exclusive access to private float planes.

Unlike many wildlife photography tours that remain in a single location, our aircraft are dedicated exclusively to our group. This gives us the freedom to fly to whichever area offers the best photographic opportunities on an given day.

With access to more than 100 remote locations, we can adapt quickly to changing wildlife activity, weather conditions and lighting opportunities, maximising your chances to capturing exceptional images.

Whether we’re photographing bears feeding on Salmon, wandering through open tundra, or framed against dramatic mountain landscapes, our flexibility allows us to be in the right place at the right time.

  • Our Coastal Brown Bear tour focuses primarily on photographing bears in famous salmon -rich coastal environments. This Remote Alaska Bear Photography Expedition offers a broader wilderness experience, using private float planes to access a wide variety of remote locations and wildlife habitats across Alaska’s interior wilderness.

  • No. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome. Tuition and guidance are provided throughout the expedition. The less you know the more you will learn.

  • We recommend a combination of telephoto lenses for wildlife photography and wider lenses for landscapes and environmental portraits. A suggested gear packing list will be provided.

  • Participants should have a moderate level of fitness. Daily hiking activities vary depending on locations and wildlife opportunities.

  • Float planes allow us to access remote wilderness areas quickly and efficiently. They provide incredible flexibility, allowing us to maximise photographic opportunities throughout the expedition.
