Alaska’s Coastal Brown Bears

This is a photo workshop that will have you walking among the coastal brown bears of Alaska for an experience that will change your life.

During the summer, brown bears gather in significant numbers to feed intensely and fatten up for the coming winter. This is the perfect opportunity to witness these incredibly beautiful animals as they fish for salmon, dig for clams and forage among the sedge grass.

It is not unusual to have close photographic experiences with mothers and cubs. Our expert guides ensure your safety while providing the best photo opportunities.

What our guests have to say about this experience…

“From the pre-trip communications right through to the last evening of the trip, Chris was always on top of the game and tended graciously to the needs and goals of every individual. And even beyond to include post-trip help with editing and ways to continue sharing with every member.

My emotions on this bear adventure ran from renewed awe at the immense beauty of my home state of Alaska, through the adrenaline rush of being in the presence of the magnificent coastal brown bear, the wonder at the nature of their behaviors with their cubs and with each other, the excitement of capturing “bucket list” shots, and on into the immense satisfaction of expanding my photographic skills into a higher realm of creativity.

I made new friends from around the world and shared stories and experiences with fellow photographers. The camp owners, guides and staff were so welcoming and gracious. The food was scrumptious.

Chris is an outstanding photographer and mentor. I recommend the Alaska Bears Photo Expedition enthusiastically.”
