WILD - LIFE IN MONGOLIA
We will venture into the remote areas of North West Mongolia to capture the rich local culture, stunning landscapes, and unique wildlife. Our journey includes visits to the homes of eagle hunters and nomadic herders, providing an authentic glimpse into their way of life.
The skilled hunters who master an ancient tradition.
For centuries, the nomadic Kazakh people of Northern Mongolia have cultivated a remarkable bond with golden eagles. During winter, these eagle hunters skillfully ride horseback, partnering with their eagles to hunt foxes, hares, and occasionally wolves. We will capture the dynamic movements of the hunt and serene portraits of these incredible hunting partners. The bond between the hunters and their eagles creates a unique atmosphere where laughter and storytelling fill the air, highlighting the joy of sharing life in their company.
That magical place where light meets shadow.
As the first light breaks over the remote and seemingly endless Mongolian dunes, golden hues are cast across the vast landscape. We watch and photograph in awe as the shadows retreat, revealing the herder and his camels framed in the sunrise light. These moments seem to stand still as we embrace a shared connection with the nomadic camel herders and the ancient rhythms of life in the high desert.

What our guests have to say about this experience…
“Just returned from a photography trip to Mongolia, organised and lead by Chris McLennan. I cannot praise Chris highly enough for what was the trip of a lifetime. Chris' organisational and leadership skills coupled with photography expertise that is second to none, made for the most amazing experience. Mongolia is a wonderful country. But travelling with Chris and having the opportunity to learn from him was very special. I shall certainly be looking to travel with him again. Exceptional! - Neil G.
A strong sense of community and a profound connection to the land.
Archaeological evidence suggests that Mongolia has been inhabited for more than 800,000 years, displaying a rich tapestry of history and culture. A significant portion of the population maintains a nomadic lifestyle, gracefully adapting their movements to the changing seasons and the needs of their herds. As we journey through the remote expanses of Northewet Mongolia, we will be welcomed into the Gers of these nomadic herders, embraced as if we were long-time friends, sharing in their age-old traditions and way of life.

The toilets are in a private area of the campsite. There will be washing facilities but no showers in the remote camps due to cold winter temperatures, and our expedition will allow us to experience the genuine authenticity of remote Mongolia. Our camp stays are broken up with a comfortable hotel and hot showers in between.
