Snow Leopards of Mongolia
October 27th - November 7th 2025
FULLY BOOKED
The majestic snow leopards, known for their elusive nature, inhabit the rugged mountains of Mongolia, making them a rare sight to behold. This unique Intrepid trip takes you on a journey to spot and photograph these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.
This trip offers participants a chance to learn about the behaviour and conservation efforts surrounding snow leopards. The itinerary is carefully planned to maximize the chances of encountering these majestic cats, as well as other fascinating wildlife species that call the remote mountains of North West Mongolia home.
Over the past 2 years, we have worked closely with our local team, alongside the management and biologists of the Strictly Protected Areas (wildlife preservation areas) to create this unique opportunity. We will have a team of rangers, biologists and management working alongside us to locate and track snow leopards.
The team we work with are permanently studying and protecting snow leopards in this area. They use camera traps along with on-ground rangers to monitor and study their movements / behaviour.
With the group's safety and conservation in mind, we will observe from a safe and respectful distance.
This trip is dedicated to maximizing our chances to photograph the elusive “ghost cat” in its natural environment. We will be catering to a very small group who are willing to put in the time to have one of the most unique and rare wildlife opportunities on the planet.
Our accommodation will be at a ranger’s camp. It will be warm and comfortable but the facilities will be basic.
PHYSICAL RATING
We designed this trip to involve the least strenuous walks and treks throughout the trip whilst maintaining the best photo opportunities. Our locations are unique in that we can access snow leopards without going to high altitudes. Conditions may be cold and appropriate clothing will be required.
