Alaska Winter 2025

We will spend time exploring Arctic landscapes and Aurora filled nights skies as well as experiencing true Alaskan wilderness by snowmobile with breathtaking backdrops of Denali. We also get a first hand experience of the Iditarod dog sled race as the teams race through remote Alaska.

Travel along the Dalton Highway, across the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot Camp. There will be two nights dedicated to the Northern Lights (conditions permitting), and amazing Arctic landscapes in the Brooks Range in the north of Alaska.

This will be a photo expedition that is guaranteed to take you on an adventure that you will never forget!

As this trip takes place in the Alaskan winter, assistance with your outfitting will be made available. This photo expedition is designed for unique photo opportunities for those with a sense of adventure.

Includes accommodation, all meals, charter flights to and from, all activities, photography tuition and all guiding.  Excludes international travel, visas, travel insurance, gratuities and alcoholic beverages.


ITINERARY AT A GLANCE - (subject to change)

Arrivals - Individual arrivals into Anchorage. Accommodation for the next two nights is in downtown Anchorage (meals are not provided on the day of arrival).

Gear check day. The right clothing is essential in these arctic climates. If required additional winter gear may be purchased in Anchorage. I'll send out a detailed equipment list once your booking is in place. We will then attend the ceremonial start of the Iditarod dog sled race in downtown Anchorage.

We drive to Talkeetna and photograph the Iditarod on the way.

Over the next 4 days we have much planned including exploring remote Alaska via snowmobile and sharing in the Alaskan way of life with our Alaskan hosts. This is a genuine experience in peoples remote cabin homes and far from the tourist routes.

There will be many opportunities to photograph the dramatic Alaskan scenery and wildlife is always possible. During this time of the trip, we charter a plane to intercept and photograph the Iditarod at Rainey Pass, one of the most spectacular locations on the racecourse. We will also visit Dallas Seavey’s kennels for an insight into endurance dog sled racing. There will be great photo opportunities and you will have your chance to try dog mushing.

Activities throughout as time and weather permits:

  • Visit and experience remote rural Alaskan lifestyles

We will depart Alaska Railroad to Fairbanks.

Travel north on the Dalton Highway across the Arctic Circle ending up in Coldfoot Camp. Great landscape opportunities along the way. Coldfoot Camp is basic, comfortable and unique. It is the Arctic Roadhouse that was the origin of the TV series Ice Road Truckers.

During the next 3 days, we will explore stunning Arctic landscapes during our private tours North over the Brooks Range. Whilst in Coldfoot we will have two Northern Lights trips in a small local village.

Charter flight back to Fairbanks for individual evening departures.

Optional overnight in Fairbanks for any departures on March 12th (not included)
